Chapter 21

A couple minutes later I heard footsteps and then the door opened.

"Hey beautiful." Sid said as he stepped aside allowing me to go in and closed the door behind me.
"Hey you." I replied.
"Let's head over to my wing and watch some movies."
"Sounds good to me."

I followed Sid through the long hallway and into his own living room. It was a simple little room but very cozy looking. There was a large flatscreen tv up against the wall on an entertainment center with a leather couch facing it. Just in front of the couch was an old looking coffee table. There was a window on the right wall but the blinds were already closed. There was a bookcase on the far wall filled with tons of books.

"I like." I said as I looked around the room some more.
"Well thanks." Sid said as he chuckled. "So I rented a couple of movies. They're over on the entertainment center. You can look at them and pick which one you want to watch while I go get some popcorn ready, OK?"
"Yeah that's fine with me."

I looked at the two movies that he had rented. He had gotten the new Fast and Furious movie and Pineapple Express. I was debating which movie I wanted to watch when I was startled by two muscular arms being wrapped around me from behind.

"So which one do you want to watch first?" He asked as he rested his chin on my shoulder causing shivers to run down my spine.
"I really wanted to see them both so it doesn't matter to me, you pick." I replied.
"Well we can watch them both if you want so it doesn't really matter which one is first."
"You sure that won't be too late for you though?"
"No I'll be fine don't even worry." He responded as he took Fast and Furious out of my hands and popped it into the DVD player.

As he put the movie in I went and sat down at the end of the couch. Once the movie was in he came and sat in the middle of the couch next to me. As we got so far through the movie I could see him fiddling his fingers like he was nervous but I didn't see why so I didn't pay much attention to it. Then a few minutes later he let out a little breath as quietly as he could and then he wrapped his arm around my shoulder and pulled me towards him so that my head was resting on his shoulder. I instinctively curled my knees up and rested them in his lap. We watched the rest of the movie in silence and I could not ignore the feeling of safety I had when I was with him. Then when it seemed like we had just gotten comfortable the movie was over so I had to move for him to get up.

"So how'd you like the movie?" He asked as he walked to the DVD player to take the movie out.
"It was better than I thought it would be." I answered with a smile.
"I know I think that was even better than the first one."
"Oh I totally think it was too."
"Well you ready for the next one?"
"Ready if you are."
"Ok here goes." He said as he popped the movie in and he came over and sat next to me again pulling me into the same position as before.

When the movie ended he made no gesture to get off the couch and I was planning on leaving him alone until he had to get up. About fifteen minutes later he kissed me on the forehead and got off the couch.

"You like that one too?" He asked as he took it out.
"Loved it. It was hilarious." I answered.
"Yeah it was pretty funny."
"For sure. I should get going now though."
"I'll walk you to your car."

I got up off the couch and while we were walking out he grabbed my hand causing a huge grin to spread across my face. When we got out by my car I turned around to face him and leaned up against the driver's side door. He stood directly in front of me.

"So I had a good time again tonight." I said.
"I did too but I'm sorry we couldn't go out and have much fun tonight I just really want to make sure I'm getting enough rest during the playoffs." He responded.
"Sid it doesn't matter to me, I really did enjoy tonight. It was really relaxing and mellow and I really do enjoy that sometimes."
"Well I'm glad of that because I didn't want to bore you or anything. I was actually hoping that we could go out again when I get back from Philly."
"I would love to go out with you again."
"Good I was hoping you would. I was actually hoping that maybe this could be a little more." He said while he rubbed the back of his neck and rocked from one foot to the other. I knew he was nervous because he wouldn't even look at me.
"What do you mean?"
"It's just, umm, from like the first time we met I could see that you were amazing and lately I just want to spend all my spare time with you. And I'm sorry if this is too fast for you but I'm really hoping that we could be exclusive, a real couple."
"I was hoping you felt that way too."
"Is that a yes?" He asked as he looked at me with a smile on his face.
"Oh absolutely." I replied smiling back at him.

With that he stepped closer to me. When he was only inches away from me he brought his hands up and cupped my face in them. Then he leaned in and when our lips met I could have sworn that I could feel electricity racing through my body. The kiss started off really slow but began to heat up a little, all the while still staying soft and sweet. After like a minute we pulled apart and he kissed me on the forehead.

"I, umm, should, aah, head home, it's aah getting late." I stammered feeling a little breathless.
"OK," he started with a smile, "I'll call you from Philly if that's fine with you."
"Yeah you can if you get some free time but don't feel like you have to if you're busy or anything."
"I know I don't have to but I want to. I'll call you from the hotel or something."
"Ok then. Well I guess I'll talk to you tomorrow." I said as I opened the car door.

He leaned in and gave me a quick kiss which once again made me feel electricity.

"Talk to you tomorrow." He said after we had pulled away.
"Ok see you in a few days."
"See you soon beautiful."

I then hopped into the car and headed home feeling like I was floating on a cloud. I couldn't even remember the last time I had felt this happy. When I pulled into the driveway and walked in through the door I couldn't wipe the smile off of my face.

"Oh my God Brooke you're such a whore." Logan said with a smile as I walked into the living room.
"What the hell Logan?" I asked taken by surprise.
"That smile on your face. That smile states that you've just gotten laid. And seeing that you were with Sidney Crosby it makes that much more sense."
"Dude have some faith in me I did not sleep with him. He asked me to be an official couple and I said yes, hence the smile. And what was up with that little dig at him?"
"It wasn't really a dig it's just he's obviously got to be good with the ladies by now."
"I don't think he's really like that he seems really genuine."
"Well he better be when it comes to you. But I'm heading off to bed I was just waiting up for you. I'll see you in the morning."
"Good night Logan."

He then went into his bedroom and I went into mine. I got ready and crawled into bed with a smile still plastered on my face at how well life was treating me at the moment and hoping that nothing would go wrong.
