Chapter 2

The next morning I woke up at 11 and decided to go and get some breakfast for Logan and me before Logan even got out of bed. I left at 11:30 after having a quick shower and putting my hair into a pony tail. I drove for about 20 minutes and came across a little café type restaurant and ordered 3 breakfast sandwiches to go and bought 2 bottles of apple juice. At 12:30 when I returned home Logan was up and looked frantic.

“Hey Logan, what’s wrong you look like you’ve seen a ghost?” I asked.
“Oh gee I wonder what could possibly be wrong with me. Could it be that fact that I woke up in a completely different house in a different city in a different country and when I look my cousin, who by the way has no sense of direction, was gone without even leaving a note or letting me know she was leaving? He responded.
This caused a little grin to spread across my face. “Oh he was worried was he? Well first of all I’m sorry I didn’t tell you but you were still sleeping and I didn’t want to wake you and I didn’t leave a note because I couldn’t find a pen. Also, if I didn’t go out then we wouldn’t have these now would we?” I said as I showed him the bag of breakfast sandwiches that I had brought back.
“You’re just lucky you came back with food.”

With that we both sat at a stool at the island in the kitchen and ate our sandwiches and drank our juice. Then Logan decided to take a shower so I went to straighten my hair and put on some nice clothes while I waited for him. 20 minutes later we met up in the living room.

“Alright Logan you ready for our big adventure today or what?” I asked with a smile on her face.
“Ready as I’ll every be with you driving us around”
“You’ll be lucky I don’t drop you off in the middle of nowhere.”
“And if you did that then who would help you get back here?”
I smiled and hit his arm jokingly as we both walked out the door and locked it behind them.

A few hours later we came back from exploring the new city and we were both feeling very lazy. We had found both of our schools and managed to do the shopping we wanted to get done. After packing away all the groceries and storing the paint and picture frames we once again wanted to have a lazy night.

“Want to watch another movie?” I asked.
“Yeah sure, what do you want to watch this time?”
“I picked last night so how about you pick this time.”
“Wow, her majesty is allowing me to pick”, he joked, “how about we watch Superbad, I’m kind of in the mood for having a laugh after shopping all day.”
“That sounds good to me”
Logan popped in the DVD and they both sat back in silence, with Logan on the couch and me on the love seat until the movie got over.

“Hey you want to help me do my resume tomorrow when we get up?” Logan asked.
“Yeah that’s probably a good idea, and then we can pass them out tomorrow or the next day and take it easy for a few days before school starts.”
“Yeah I think that’s the perfect plan. Our parents are going to be shocked that two slackers like us actually got everything done and out of the way in our first three days.”
“I know and they definitely won’t regret letting us run off to Pittsburgh to go to school.”
“It’s always fun proving your parents wrong,” Logan laughed, “I’m bushed I think I’m going to go to bed.”
“Yeah I’m going to head off to bed too; I’ll see you in the morning.”
“Good-night, Brooke.”
“Night, Logan.”

Chapter 1

“Wow, I can’t believe we’re finally here” Logan says as they pull into the driveway of a nice apartment.
“I know”, I replied, “now all we have to do is pack all of our things away, find where your high school is, and find where my veterinary college is.”
“Don’t forget getting settled in and grocery shopping, and we’ve only got a week to do it”, Logan responds with a smile spreading quickly across his face. “I can’t believe you came all the way from Newfoundland to Pittsburgh to follow your dream.”
“And I can’t believe your mother and father let me bring you along with me”, I shot back with a smile now spreading across my face. “Then again they know that I’m the only one who can smarten you up”
“Very funny”, Logan responds.

We both got out of the car that my parents got me before I left on my trip with Logan. As we walked into the house we were both wide-eyed, it was a beautiful home. When we first walked through the door we came into a huge porch with two boot racks and a nice walk in closet. Walking in from the porch there was a nice sized kitchen with an island in the center of it with six stools put around it. There was already a nice stove, fridge, cupboards, cabinets, and everything else needed. There was a doorway to the right of the kitchen which led into the living room area. The living room also contained all of the furniture needed, the only thing missing were pictures and decorations. In the back of the living room there was a beautiful, winding staircase, with a half bathroom in under it that led to the two bedrooms. Each bedroom was a nice size with a Queen sized bed in there and each had its own bathroom. Each of those bathrooms had a stand up shower, a Jacuzzi style bathtub, and a beautiful marble sink and toilet set. There was also another half bathroom upstairs containing only a toilet and sink.

“This place is amazing,” I stated in awe, “how did we get so lucky to find a place like this?”
“I have no idea and I’m also wondering how we’re going to afford this place, I mean we’re both far from rich, especially now that we’re so far away from our parents.” Logan replied with a smile.
“Well I’m assuming that between the bank accounts our parents had for us with our savings, my student loan, and both of our part time jobs will be enough for us so we won’t end up on the street.”
“Yeah I sure hope you’re right because I don’t think you would last long on the streets, you might actually get your hand dirty there right princess.” Logan said with a laugh.
“Oh he’s a funny guy he is, remember if I hadn’t agreed to take you in you would probably be out on the streets back home you rebel”

We both laughed and went off to explore more of the house. We each got settled into our bedrooms and packed all of our clothes away and then headed back downstairs.
“I think we have to give this place some flavor, like paint the walls or something and print off some pictures we can put in frames and hang around the house to make it feel more like home.” I suggested.
“I think it would be a good idea to make it feel more like home but I definitely think you should be in charge of the decorating, I’ll help and everything but I’m not one for the whole decorating thing.”
“That’s perfect, as long as you can help me with the hanging and painting I’ll come up with all the ideas, of course I’ll run them by you first so I don’t make the place too girly for you.”
“As long as the walls aren’t going to be pink or purple I think I’ll be OK with whatever you choose to do to the place.”
“Oh well that’s my plan shot to hell.” I joked, sarcastically. “I guess I’ll just have to paint my room pink I guess.”
“Yeah that’s the only thing I’m allowing to be pink.” Logan joked back. “So it’s like 9 P.M so what do you want to do to pass some time.”
“Well I’m kind of tired so how bout watching a movie or something before we head off to bed.”
Yeah that sounds good to me, and I bet I don’t even have to ask what movie you want to watch.”
“Dude, do you seriously think that you know everything about me?”
“I bet you want to watch The Transformers.”
After a short pause I replied with “OK you may know what I wanted to watch but that don’t mean you know me.”
Logan laughed as he turned on the movie and we both sat on separate sides of the couch to watch. After the movie was over we were both yawning and decided to go to bed.

“How about tomorrow we go explore a little and figure out where we have to go?” I suggested.
“Yeah that sounds good to me,” Logan answered, “good night cuzzy.”
“Night cuz, see you in the morning.”

With that we both went to bed to catch up on the sleep we were deprived of during our few days of travel.
